Gas Fill Up Hole?

Gas Fill Up Hole?
Hi Everyone,
Gotta Question.....If you remove your gas cap, Isn't there supposed to be a little spring loaded "door" that covers the hole where you insert the gas pump nozzle? It opens once you insert the nozzle and pump gas.
If I remove the gas cap on my 04 Ram 1500 4x4 Hemi, there isnt one, just a hole that you could pour anything into. This seemed odd to me, since every car I have ever owned (including a 98 Ram 1500 4x4) had some sort of similar device blocking the fill up hole. I gotta 34 gallon gas tank, if that makes any difference. Maybe it is supposed to be like this?? What is yours like?
Thanks for any help and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

RE: Gas Fill Up Hole?
Mine's the same...one problem I'm having is that EVERY time I fill up it overflows. Doesn't matter what gas station it's at. I've had that happen once in a while on my other vehicles but nothing like this. I don't know if there's a restriction in the filller neck, or if that's just the way it is. Is it doing that for anyone else?

RE: Gas Fill Up Hole?
The fuel fill restricter was originally there to keep people from putting the cheaper leaded gas
into their cars when both kinds were still offered at the pumps. I haven't seen leaded gas sold
anywhere in a long time so I guess Dodge decided to stop putting it on their cars.
