so if you have looked at my album you have seen my subs in the box underneath my back seat.fits great.sounds pretty good.well i just got two 10in type R subs in the mail today. my old ones are 10in as well, but they are E's=not as good as R's.so i was excited. we took out my old subs unhooked the wiring, plugged the wired back into my new subs put them in the box....and they freaking dont fit! the box is deep enough but inside, it slants because of the shape of the crate, and the R'sare just wide enough that the sides hit the slants so i have them sitting in there with a big gap so wheni turn them up it sound absolutly terrible.im sorta pissed. any ideas or suggestions? im gonna start looking for a new box. thats the only thing i can think of really besides sending the subs back which i dont want to do. anything helpful would be great. sorry for the length
you gotta get rid of the R's. the magnet is too big man. you probably dont even have enough air space for them either!! be careful man. youll blow them.
nope, the seats underneath are just a fabric with nothing solid behind it but air. its fine if the subs were to be hitting the seats. i had an 06 quad cab and had 2 10's in there that were hitting the seat. no problems there.
you could get those wooden rings shops use to make fiberglass boxes and the ones they use to make holes in regular boxes. Srew that to your enclousure then screw the sub to that. I think you'll get an inch height which could miss the slant. I wish i knew what those were called but if you get what im saying it wiuld be perfect.
