Death wobble cure?
I posted here a few times about my front end. Through you guys I was able to determine it was the "death wobble".
I have 315 x 70x 17 BF Goodrich tires. I took it back, yet again, to have the caster changed in the front end allignment. I found out if it's a 4x4 I needed to add some spacers. Anyway, they called and said they couldn't get it to do it.
I was pertty angry at this point as I've dealt with this on and off for almost 2 years. I got the guy in the truck and took him down a road proven to give this effect every single time....nothing....
Well....
After talking with him it hit me. "Did you guys put air in the tires"? He said yea as the tires need full pressure to do an accurate front end allignment...BINGO...It was determined these tires need the full 50 pounds of pressure to keep them from bouncing.
I remembered when I last went to the beach (I drove this truck 1,800 miles last year) this past fall, I had to let the air out of the tire to effectively drive on the sand. When we left, I couldn't find a air pump that would put 50 pounds back in.
Problem seems to be solved. If anyone experiances this problem, you may find air pressure is the problem.
Now it looks like I can install those 456 gears like I want too!!!
Thanks for the help guys!
