should 4x2s be lifted
I like them. Here are some pics of mine in action. In the second to thelast pic I was the only 2wd in that grop. Last pic is of what the truck looks like right now with oem chrome rims and color matched grill shell.
thats all well and good, but several things, one none of that stuff was slippery or deep. secondly it was on a closed course so it makes it easier for you to "go for it"
ill go through high water crossings all the time here with our "flash floods" but good to see youre taking it out.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Why would you pay more money for something that your not going to use. How many of you 4x4 owners actually take your lifted trucks to places where 4x2's couldn't go.

Not according the the overall vote but in my case not just a no but a HELL NO! Lifting a 4x2 is a wannabe thing to do. For those who wanna "look" like they have a 4x4 but were too cheap to spring for one. IMHO, lifting a 4x2 makes as much sense as putting an elevator in an outhouse. It just does not belong.

Just curious.
There is nothing wanna be about it, (i have a 4x4). It looks good, does what they need to do. Will still perform better than it did stock. It's not like they're slapping on off road and v-tec stickers.
I don't care what ppl do. do i think it's hilarious and wanna be yes. will I laugh my *** off when I see it yes. but they can still do it. it's sorta like hondas with type r and vtec stickers. I don't care that they do it. it's just more entertainment for me.
alhtough i'll say it's prolly easier to life a 4x2 no worry about ifs problems with big tires and no real tuff driveline angle issues.

You needed 4x4 and a lift for this.... https://dodgeforum.com/photo.asp?pho...=6&apage=1

as for Ben D, thats what ive said in several diff posts, they will be laughed at when they think they are cool. the stupid honda furious 4 bangers are stupid as hell. nobodys saying they SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO DO IT, just that they shouldnt do it. youre allowed to touch your water heater panel with wet fingers to feel what 220 feels like but ya shouldnt (btw that phucking hurt like a bastard) so when these people keep saying yeah its their truck let them do what they want, no **** they can do what they want. i just want them to realize that the rest of the truckers will laugh at them (well most of the other truckers) just like we all laugh at ricers. and whats up with fords fx2's i thought that was some guy making light of the fact that he's got a 4x2, but ive seen it on several fords, who the F advertises they have a 2wd truck?
I dont think that a lifted 4x2 and ricers, are even in the same category. I have never looked down on a guy for having a lifted 2wd. I have laughed at guys for having a vtech geo though.
It looks, good, and even though they are 4x2, the lift DOES serve a purpose. It makes them more capable, better riding, more ground clearence. and it looks better. I dont see how they are "pretending" to be "real trucks" any fullsize truck is a "real truck"
If a lifted 4x2 is pretending to be a "real truck" then the same argument can be made with diesels having stacks out the bed, clearance lights (on the cab roof) on 1500's. That is straight up intetionally trying to make your truck look like something it is not, and 3/4 or 1 ton. And all of the above are trying to look like semi's. There is no reason for a pickup truck to have clearence lights. and many other things done to 4x4's
