Default 06 Quad Upgrade Speaker Advice?

I want to install some better speaker in my 2006 Quad Cab. What size speakers does it have?
Pretty easy to install new ones? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I done this about 2 weeks ago. In the front doors you have 6x9's, I replaced mine with Pioneer 3 ways. In the back door I went with Pioneer 61/2 2 way speakers. You will have to drill new holes for the 61/2 in the back door, it's not hard, very easy. It all sounds great!!

Hey Peddler, can you let us know the specific model number of those Pioneers? Where you get em? What deck are you running?

/\ /\ /\ Yup! I did the same thing in the front with the 6x9's and I ordered some Pioneer 61/2 4 ways for the back...they should be here tomorrow... I’m hoping they will be as easy as I am told they are to install... Just replacing the front doors sounds a lot better than the stock crap. Order some off crutchfield; they will give you the directions for installing a radio, and the speakers for your vehicle for free, and the wiring harness so that you can plug the speakers right in so there is no cutting or saudering wires. If you use my referral code: pc4be-i1auu-w0guc) you will get a $20 credit on your first order of $200 or more (if you are a new user)

Updated 4/1

I am in the process of drilling the new holes now...

Remove the handle Torx Screw T30 and the Philips screw on the door panel. Then the door will come off by pushing it up.

I just upgraded my deck to a pioneer avic D3. I still have the stock speakers.

The system sounds alot better even with the same speakers. I think its because it has more headroom (200 watts vs stock 60watts) and better EQ.

I'd like to upgrade my speakers too, but you might consider getting a new head unit first, I think it makes as much of an improvement.

Haha, thats the exact speakers I was looking at getting. I want to get these before I get married and mods get put on the last priority.

i'm going to be ordering these beasts when the new truck comes in.... http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...p;i=136ZR650CS
that and two jl 13w3v3's running on a 1000/1 and a 300/4 running a set of those zr cmponents up front and a set of them in 5.25 in the rear. eclipse avn5495 or 6620 dunno which yet.

you could ge teh pioneers not my personal favorite. they are good for a slight upgrade over factory but If you want some stuff that is a true representation of what the aftermarket has look into jl,polk,mb quart, alpine. pioneer is awesome for h/u but not so much speakers.

I just finished installing some alpine type-r 6.5" component speakers in the front (originals were 6x9's) and i have to say that the quality of sound has improved greatly... not sure what i'm gonna do in the back yet, 05's have stock 5.1/4". Head unitfirst, speakers second in my book.
