I have a 2002 Ram 1500. The foam ont eh driver seat is pretty worn. Wondering if anyone knows where I can basically purchase the complete foam that is under the fabric. I'm wondering can I purchase the complete formed seat foam.

 

you could either find another ram at a junk yard, and take those seats.

or take out seat, and take it to upholstery place. and, they will take fabric off, and can re-shape a piece of squishy foam for cushion. while they are there, you may as well pay another 2hundred to get it wrapped in leather.

 

If you want the DIY route, go to Michaels, or Jo-ann fabrics and you can buy 4" foam for $29-39.00. Then get yourself an electric carving knife and just cut it to match the worn one.

 

Guys, I dont want to make my own and unless I get a truck with low miles in a junk yard that foam would be worn to some degree. I was hoping somebody might make replacement foam and cut to size, just remove original cover, replace foam and re-install cover.

 

not that i know of. and if there was, it'd be a dealer part, and you'd still be better off having a professional auto upholsterer do it. they could make you an awesome seat to match your original one, and wrap the whole seat in two tone leather for the same price an oem cushion from the dealer would cost.

My local upholstery guy said $125.00 to replace the foam. Is that an OK price. Using same seat covering.
