TInted Tails
i have new tail liahgts coming in mail on monday (according to tracking info)...

to actually answer your questions, i'd say if you go with either, go with #1. i'm not really a fan of the 07+ tails, cause they poke out like they do. i like the older tail...that are round and flush with the corner of truck.

Hey mmstar, forgot to recommend to tape of the clear plastic on your 3rd brake light before you spray the VHT on it. That way it's still bright on the bed. You don't have to though, your choice. Just take it off before you clear coat!
out break did you do it the way the 350Z did?that seems like a lot of work lol. did you sand the clear coat after?
step by step from you would be great dude. i hate trying to do things and end up wasting my time and money and have to get new ones.

No problem, here is what I did:
1. Removed light.
2. LIGHTLY sanded down the RED parts that were standing out from the light (some numbers on the bottom and a small mark form the mold).
3. Cleaned THOROUGHLY with dish soap and windex.
4. Let dry.
5. Covered clear plastic with masking tape (I didn't want those lights coated).
6. Cleaned again.
7. Let dry.
8. Painted with VHT (I used 3 coats).
9. Let dry (maybe 1-2 hours).
10. Wet sanded with a few drops of soap inwater and 2000 grit sandpaper.
11. Cleaned THOROUGHLY again!
12. Let dry.
13. Sprayed 2 coats of duplicolor clearcoat.
14. Let dry.
15. Installed on truck! We were supposed to get a lot of rain, so I needed to replace the light (my truck won't fit in the garage).
I didn't sand the clear-coat because I didn't need to, I think it looks good. Again, I heard Duplicolor clear-coat doesn't clear up, but it sure did for me!
That is how I did it, there may be better ways and I am not expert AT ALL!

The rain slowed down a little bit, so I took some pictures. Like I said, it's a little dark, so I may sand it down some more to lighten it up.
