Only brand I've ever had is Warn. This is my second in twelve years. I let the last one go in 2002 with my '94 Wrangler. I was VERY tempted to try a Mile Marker this time (2005) as I could have bought a 12,000 lb. one for less than a 9000 lb. Warn. But at the time I still lived in GA. and EVERY guy I hunt/fish/ATV with that has one on his truck and/or 4 wheeler has a Warn or Ramsey, and we are talking better than a dozen people here.
Peer Pressure! If I'd have bought a Mile Marker or Superwinch to save money and it ever burnt out the selenoids or given out in any way while winching, I'd never live it down.
Warn has the name, Ramsey has an almost equal rep. They are both priced accordingly. The others are looked down on by serious off-roaders, but that in no way means they are automatically no good.
My advice is, if you plan on using it regularly, like I did up until a year or so ago, than go Warn. If it's gonna be for once or twicea year, just in case you get stuck, then save yourself some money and try a Mile Marker...

That's cheap, and it probably is cheap. I've never heard of the brand, I don't even think the ad mentions it. I also don't like that the specs don't give you the motor manufacturer or even the HP rating of it. But for the price, it may be worth a try.
The mounting channel it comes with is only for Jeep Wranglers, they use a channel to mount to the factory bumper, so it's useless to you. 6000-7500 lb. winches are usually sold to Jeep owners, they are considered a little small for full size trucks.

The Westin Bull Bar is a fine unit, but has no winch mount. You need to get something with a winch mount, or a front receiver and a receiver mount...

New to this, huh?

No winch mount on it either, I see light mounts, but no winch mount.

Yea, I'd at least go the Mile Marker route, myself...

I'll try to find a couple winch mounts, you know, Warn makes a fantastic hidden mount. It's relatively cheap and mounts behind the front bumper, exactly like the factory Warn winch on the Power Ram...

I almost went that route, but some of the places I go hog hunting, I wanted the extra protection.

Here's a Mile Marker 8000 lb. for $388. It'll mount to that hidden mount, most name brand winches all have the same bolt pattern...
