For da luv o' pete - now what's this noise?
I am going out of my mind....[:@]
I've developed a new sound.
It happens when I'm going forward, under 20 MPH.
It is some kind of clunking noise - sounds like someone tapping on a steel pipe with a hammer!
I thought I left a wrench under the hood or something, and it was moving back and forth, but I can't find the source. I recently had a flat on the right rear tire and thought it might be that cause it sounds like it's coming from the right side - not sure.
I got under the truck three times, and had no luck finding anything loose and hitting anything.
The front driveshaft does have a bit of play, more than I would call normal - i'm not sure if that's it...
Anyone got any ideas? Everthing else seems tight.
And it seems to only happen when I'm going slow. It doesn't happen over bumps, or turning the wheel, or anything like that. It literally sounds like a wrench hitting a saucepan!
