replacing leatherette seat covers......help
ok, I was excited about getting cloth seat covers for a good price for my truck. Now I'm not too excited, lol. I decided to start with the head rests..... and I can't get the damn thing over the top of it. Has anyone done this before, and if you did, how the hell did you do it? Are the seats just as hard to do, or are the headrests the hardest part?
I assume you took off your original covers? THe headrests are by far the hardest part. I took mine from cloth to leather. The leather would strecha littlewhen heated, then lots of pulling. Not sure what you would do to get the cloth on.
yeah i went from cloth to leather in truck as well.....not sure what to tell ya about getting the cloth cover off if you wanna save em for any reason....i just ripped mine off and said the hell with it
I mamnaged to get one of my covers off without ripping, got a slight rip in the second one taking it off.
I was trying to not rip as I was going to sell my covers, given they were the premium covers.

argh, apparently the seat covers on an '06 won't fit on an '05........ sigh, guess I'll be putting them on ebay and looking for some '02 - '05 covers.......
Oh yea, very different, and not for the better IMO.
The 09s, well those are better

go to an upholstery place. you could bring them the seats, and they could custom re-make your covers in leather or whatever: and you'll probably get a warranty, and you could customize it a bit. they said they'd do my truck for $600...that the two seats, console/middle seat. and they'd do black, with grey inserts (the middle back/butt of seat).
