im using the lincoln/ford fan on high speed and have a 50amp slow blow fuse and 75 amp relay, only blew it one time...I never actually checked how many amps it draws myself, im going off what someone else posted on another site about my same fan when I needed help wiring mine up; and I will post it here....

Be aware the high side will draw almost 100 amps for a couple seconds on start up and then go down to 33-35 amps. You will need the Bosch 75 amp relay at least. Make sure you use at least 12 gauge wire with thick insulation. Home Depot sells some 8 and 10 gauge wire that is safe for 600 volts and oil and gasoline resistant.

alternator hasnt given me any problems yet, if it does I'll just get a bigger one or add a second alternator. The stock battery lasted about 6 months, I now have a optima yellow top so that should be good for a few years. Im actually looking into the flex-alite fan now, I have a hole in my stock radiator and may be getting a aluminum radiator it will be easier to fit a new e-fan on it than this cut up e-fan that I have now; and it might be a little easier on my battery/ alt. lol

Ok did some reading about fan clutches.Ramitone is right the heavy duty fan clutch would of not of been for me to get. I picked up the one without heavyduty cooling and its ran just fine. It seems if I went with the heavyduty cooling one, truck would be at loss with power, fanclutch would be more nosiy plus the life of fan clutch would be short.

daytona1680, from which ford modelis the fan from? I know the one from the ford taurus 3.8L runs great without problems.

they are all the same from what I understand weather it a licoln or ford, have 2 speeds; high and low, and they look the same.
