Default Stock exhaust

Being this my first Ram, could someone explain the exhaust to me.
What is the "smaller muffler" for, following the larger muffler. I was
considering dual at sometime, and was wondering if it was going
to be a problem.

its just a resonator, helps reduce the sound of the exhaust. you can remove it without any problems

Just remember, if you decide to take the stock off, you'll have to get used to a new slightly irritating noise..... the, MDS......

Ugh....

To me it does not sound that bad, it sounds like a Harley.
