Was this O.K. to do with my CAI? More power or less MPG?

At the very least you are gonna get water, mud, gravel, dirt, etc. all over the engine compartment & filter. Pop the hood next time you go somewhere when the roads are wet.
This would have been a whole lot better solution. And don't let the '03-'05 sway anybody, older add, it works on any 3rd Gen. non-CTD...

Thanks
Never mind, I found pics on their website.
The answer to my questionis..... It does not go very far into the engine compartment. It would terminate somewhere next to the radiator.
I will be fabbing something similar this year when I get bored on vacation, however it will flow directly into my stock airbox (sealed). I want to grab air from the same spot as it is a fairly direct shot to the airbox, it is that or grab it from the wheel well, but like the idea of getting the air when moving from the grill.
I know Cobra is running from a empty fog light hole (Mustang trick), I am trying to avoid grabbing from the bumper area as it is a longer route with, I would guess, severe bends.
If it turns out nice I will either post directions, or maybe offer kits

My AFE High Breather already grabs air from the front of the grill, wouldn't mind having more of a direct flow to it but its the same spot/concept.
Hey guys i am about to go to home depot or lowes to find something to cover my wheel well hole with that i cut out, its a pretty good square chunk i cut out what would you recommend that i buy to cover it up that i can drill into or something?
Hey 94rtOhio, Ive got one of those airram things your askin about, its pretty good for my CAI because my filter sits right behind it but if your CAI doesnt dip down by the washer fluid container i wouldnt get one, you could make one its pretty much thin plastic but it fits real good and does its job.
Hey Trukin151, that high breather is pretty meaty lookin,

aluminum sheetmetal and some rivets w/washers to back them.
yes, the jet stream scoop works really well. i have one and every time i go to clean my filter there is loads of road crap on it from where the scoop directs the air.
i like that afe filter too. the concave center cone is a volume improvement over the traditional capped end like the k&n and most older style filters.

I would go to an auto wrecker and get a new inner fender sheild. You don't want any water getting in through cracks. And it's probably the cheapest.
It is a 'fool's errand'
to make air intake changes and modifications
without measuring before, and then after,
the IAT and MAP
sensor readings...plus some stopwatch timed accelerations.
