stock spark plugs
alright thanks. man these things are pretty cheap. Can anyone tell me how they got to the back ones and how to get to the ones under the coils. Also would these plugs be my best bet since my truck is all stock.
no problem, thats what I'm here for, well that and pissin off any liberal sob I can find LOL.
Get a 5/8s spark plug swivel socket.
Yeah those coppers are the best thing out there. Don't understand it, I wouldn't even put champions in my lawnmower, granted its an expensive toro but none the less.
When you go to the auto store make sure you take the part number, the dumbass will tell you that they say plat not copper.
Also if you do forget just pop the hood, on the upper left part of the hood it'll list the part #
Some people on here say they like plats better, but never have I heard someone say they've had a prob with coppers, but a lot will say theyve had issues with plats or irid.

Some people say drop the wheel well liner, something like that.
you could pm horse apples as he says he can do it in like 20 min. I'd love to see a vid, cause thats awesome if he really can do it that fast, even hammer says he won't ever bother changing plugs himself.
Side note on the chsmpion coppers, my buddy changed em for the first time at 90k 2002 4.7 and they didn't look much worse than when I did mine a few weeks ago at 31k.

will changing the type of plugs really change your gas mileage? Other than the obvious, if they're dirty than they are going to hurt gas mileage.

brad it shouldn't, mainly its not all friggin nasty and gets a bigger spark. Also most people clean their throttle body when they change the plugs and clean out the pcv valve so that helps with fuel econ. Also its mental as well, they may baby it a bit more, round down on the gallons when they calc fuel econ, or even worse use the trucks CPU to calc their mpg.
I just did mine last weekend. It wasn't fun, but as long as your aren't crippled and halfway mobile you can do it. I put a sheet on the bumper to stand on and a moving blanket folded several times on top of the radiator. Trust me, you will want something up there. That is where you will spend most of your time. Pull the intake off....unclip from filter housing, take out the two screws in the front, and lift up and out. Knees on radiator, left arm holding yourself up on top of the block and reach back to where the 10mm bolts are on the coil pack (Drivers Side). Once you break it loose you can take the ratchet off, leave the socket on to help turn, and then just take the two screws out. The plug next to it is as simple as pulling the boot off and then removing the plug. The left side looks easier, but has its own set of obstacles. Namely the EGR tube. I left mine on and just worked around it. Some people take it off, your choice. So it ain't easy, but it will save you some coin to do it yourself. If you have any specific questions, just shoot me a pm and I will try to answer ahead of time.
