Windshield wiper problem...
So I bought my truck this past christmas, its a 2004 hemi QC 4X4 SLT. When I got it, I noticed that if I smacked the ice off my wipers hard enough, the jar would set the wipers off. (They would wipe once, then quit)It even did it with the truck off and the key out. Now I didn't think much of it at the time as I was pretty excited about getting the truck. It doesn't happen every time, seems to be random. Lately though, the time delay is all out of whack. Sometimes the delay works, sometimes they just wipe continuously, sometimes I have to set them to the highest setting just to get em going.
Anyways, I brought it to Canadian Tire recently, and after almost two hours of dinking around with it, the mechanic decided that it was probably something inside the relay control unit. Unfortunately, it's a self contained unit, and they told me it would cost around $500 bucks to replace. Ok, figured out what the wire was for. A jumper that goes from the running light relay to the fog light relay. Which explains why my fog lights are on all the time... Aaanyways, I don't know if I need it or not, but I can't take it off to find out since its soldered on, and I don't have any solder myself.
Anyways, back to the original problem, after thinking about it for a while, I think it could be the wiper motor that's dyin on me.
So, if anyone has any ideas, let me know.
Thanks,
Tony
