Dealer wants "about" $800
I called the Dodge dealers closest to me and they boh told me It was "about" $800 to get the blend door problem fixed. Im wondering if I should just leave it they way it is, but it'll be really hot w/o the a/c working.
in south Texas it doesn't matter how big your tires are, plugs or no plugs, its whoever has the coldest ac has the best ride.
Summer hasn't even hit and I couldnt imagine not having ac. You could pull the larry the cable guy with the ac window mount in the rear window.
I laugh my *** off when I see some ***** driving a rice burner all queered out and has his windows down cause ac pulls too many horses from his weed eater motor.
I would drive a 1984 toyo taco ext cab with ac instead of my 06 qc 4x4 if its ac wasnt working.

You can answer that question come August yourself. If it was me, I would make sure that is the best price around then set up the appointment. Don’t wait till you’re sweating! Red
I wouldn't dout it, they will probibally charge when it gets hotter. I wanna get it done, but I NEED my truck mon-fri so...i don't really have a good time to do it till like the first or second week of June.
I had the same issue on my Grand Cherokee. But I had A/C with noheat. Mine were broken shut, yours must be broken open. I knew about it when I bought it and I negotiated the "estimated" $1200 it would cost to fix it off the negotiated price. I thought that living in Fl., I'd never miss the heat, but the first 42 degree morning with no heat and more importantly no defroster changed that idea trying to drive to work at 5 a.m.
Fixed it myself, a bitch, because the whole dash and everything connected to the dash had to come out and/or be disconnected. Turns out, if you have the time (took me a good eight hours) the parts are only about $125. The rest is labor. It's not hard to do, just very slow and tedious.
I wouldalso advise you todo the evaporator while you are there, because it's a thin walled POS and odds are, next year, you'll be tearing apart the dash to do it...
