i just ordered my motor!!
Theres only one way to find out... I cant sit here and tell you I know without a doubt if you dont put the better springs on your going to have a failor, no one knows what will happen on YOUR engine unless you try it.What I can tell you is what I see on the other 4-5 dodge forums i'm a member of, some people put in a aftermarket cam and they try to cut costs buy not upgrading the springs; spring breaks, they drop a valve...and well you should be able to figure out the rest. There are a very few people that a using the stock springs and not having problems, but there day is coming. Most people dont take the chance and upgrade to atleast the 6.1 springs, and here in the last year are upgrading to the 6.1 pushrods after it was proven the 5.7 p-rods arn't quite long enough to get the proper lifter preload on aftermarket cams. the factory 6.1 parts are only like $60, pretty cheap compaired to not having your truck for awhile if the engine breaks, or having to pay a few hundred$ to get it fixed. There are higher price springs and pushrods that are better than the factory 6.1 stuff, but with your 6.1 cam the factory 6.1 springs and push rods will be fine.
