3) I can certainly tell you than the miata drivers I know arent compensating for something else. Cant say the same for PU truck drivers I know.

 

i didn't ask how many people raced the roller skate, i didn't ask what the sex of the drivers were, and i didn't ask how many of the pick up drivers junk you've seen.... although i do find it interesting that you check your buddies sizes. CMA, have you ever owned an LS1? Camaro? Firebird? theyre overrated man. I agree with SeverDistortion, youll get pulled on by a regular cab hemi anyday in that miata, and go ahead and add some quick mods to the hemi and youll be pulling alot of other sports cars/trucks.

I had a 99 firehawk/transam and it was not all that impressive, sure it was fast but i feel alot of the same pull and power from my 03 RCSB hemi. in fact the day i went to test drive the firehawk from the person i bought it from i remember thinking to myself how much faster i thought trans ams were. I mean sure those types of cars are going to be faster right out of the assembly line because they are half the weight of a truck, but so what, with the respected hemi engine we are only a few bolt on mods away from giving an ls1 a run for their money. doesnt a stock ls1 run low 14s' high 13s' anyways?

And you are right, the fbodys etc. handle very well but its a trade off when you buy a camaro or firebird because your basically owning a low quality made sportscar with a good engine and tons of rattles and squeeks to go along with it, o yea and leaky t-tops, lol.

 

The only place a stock Miata outhandles a stock F-body is in a 1st-2nd gear parking lot autox course. The static tests (skidpad, braking, etc.) are won by the Camaro every time. It's well known that Miatas rule the gokart track. Put 'em on a road course and it's bye bye Miata.

I do laugh at the F-body handling myth. It's the same people who'd swear my Stealth was too heavy to be a performer even if they've never ridden in one. They're shocked at how it stacks up in magazine comparisons though -- far better than its "underpowered pig" stereotype.

Just because your truck is an auto doesn't mean you can't shift it. If you see you'll need 2nd gear just ahead and will need those precious seconds, shift into 2nd yourself. You'll find that those who drive their truck like it was a sports car have never owned anything that handled better. I think my truck has fine grip thanks to these tires but my Subaru could take any curve at over twice the speed the truck is capable of.

 

Actually the LS1 f-bodsare underrated...they average between 295-310rwhp bone stock which puts them at the vettes rating of 345bhp. I haven't dynoed my ram yet but from what I see on here they put down around 260-270rwhp due to the huge drivetrain loss. My 2000 Z28 auto ran 13.3 @ 106 bone stock...which is far faster then a hemi ram with full bolt-ons. Low 14's high 13's are for LT1's..

You owned a firehawk and you think it feels like it hasthe same pull as your ram? I know torque can be deceiving using SOTP feel but c'mon...it doesn't even feel close. With just a lid and a tune i'd floor my auto maro and go completey sideways at 20mph...not to mention it's a full 2 seconds faster bone stock. The bodies are cheap though...

RAMS r fast TRUCKS thats y i only race other TRUCK i know a vette would walk all over me so i dont even try it, every now and then i will show an import that he is still a retard for trying to go fast in a 90hp car but other then that i race other trucks, u have got to stick to your own class. i hate when ppl spend 10k on a car and go on and on about how it beet aSTOCK vette, how about u let them spen 10k on the vette also and then say u beet them, now thats somethin to talk about

 

I love trucks, I would never buy a car, y becuase in a accident whose going to win a dodge truck or a honda civic. But i do like seeing big huge trucks throwin it down. People don't realize how powerful these things really are. Especially desiels down the freeway spittin black smoke at wot. Thats pretty legit.
