I need your advice folks. I've got an 02 ram 1500 quad cab 4.7 that i use around town. It's got mega miles 110,000 or so. There's a wrecked 05 1500 4.7 i know of with about 10,000 on it. Great deal. Do you folks know if an engine, transfer case and tranny swap from 05 to my 02 would work. Would I need the ECU and all harnesses as well or can i use mine. I heard that this year was different than the 2002.

I'm new to mopar so your patience and thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

 

should be the same. 02-05 are the same.

 

If you just swap the engine itself, the long block basically is what you need, unless your accessories are shot too, should be a straight swap. It will definitely go in, you may have to swap some small components, like sensors and whatnot. The best way to do it is get as much as you can with the engine from the donor, then take yours out (if you have the time) and set them next to each other. Start comparing. Go from there.

 

110k isnt that many miles. If it isnt broke dont fix it.
