I have the 3.7 and I have the same problem. Ticking sound at idle. Comes and goes.

 

My father's 99 GM 5.3 did this all the time, my 03 did and now 05 Hemi do this sometimes , just hold the gas on neutral between 3-4000 RPM for about10 seconds.................. lifter bleeded and no more GM noises.
