WOW... My ram sounds like a GM
Any one else have knockin problems... sounds like the lifters??? My yukon did the same thing but GMs are notorious for it. I wasn't aware dodges were too. Anyone else know of this problem?

I've been told everything from "it's the exhaust" to "sounds like combustion noise"...all a crock of course. I'm thinking it's the collapsible lifters for the MDS because it gets twice as loud when in MDS.

yea that does sound like a rattlesnake lol. mine is really only bad or noticeable when its at idle. you really cant hear it much, or maybe i just stop paying attention, when i am driving. but its an 02 with 99k and some change on it. so i guess its expected. but if anyone else has anything let me know, thanks

Hell, if its an 02 it cant be the hemi tick; you dont have a hemi. What engine do you have?

I have an 02 and it has a tick but nothing like that. Im thinking mine is the lifters, it only does it in cold weather and on cold start up.

Mine does it on cold starts now, just about everytime. Goes away once the motor warms up. Didn't notice it until around the 10k mile mark, dealership said she was fine....
And you're right, it sounds exactly like my 02 Sierra work truck's lifter tick...

i have the 4.7... i think. lol. im prettty sure thats what i have. i know its not the hemi. yea i have the 4.7 im sure it will be fine just thought id ask some fellow mopar men. since im new to the mopar stuff. i was raised GM but i have to admit i love this truck as well.
