Default Probably getting a 2008 Hemi - question

My local dealer (have bought several cars/trucks from him) is giving me an $8K rebate on an SLT Hemi, not to mention selling it at invoice. He is also giving me a great trade amount on my '07 SXT.

I know the 2009's are about to roll out but this is a great deal I almost CAN'T pass up. I also feel the major kinks are worked out of the 3rd gens. The selling point that swayed me is the Lifetime Powertrain warranty. I love drving my SXT, so this is pretty much the same truck plus the Hemi.

I noticed one minor thing- the hood seems to have a gap bigger on one side than the other. I have heard and seen others like that, but is it adjustable? It's not terrible, I'm just a stickler on a $22K truck, ya know?

My bed was misaligned with the cab...they fixed me right up with no BS. I had a new hood put on, (not by the dealer), and it looks straight and even to me. I bought my truck in August of 07 when 08's were rolling in and they wanted to dump the 07 stock. I got a 6K rebate and a GREAT trade in rate on my 00 silverado. If waiting is an option for you, id consider it. The 09's are sweet and i personally LOVE buckets n floor shifter in a truck. Id prolly get 1 myself but im in too deep with my 07, (which i still love very much).
No matter what you do, im sure you will enjoy your new truck!

The bed on my SXT was the same way. Easy fix and no hassles.

Here's the thing - I am getting a ton more on trade than the SXT is worth. That, coupled with the $8k, is good simply because I'm not as upside down as I would be now. Plus, my interest rate has dropped almost 2%.

I love the thought of the 09s but they will not have nearlythe same deals, plus what if I lose 3-5K on my trade, which will then be older?

Another concern is that Chrysler doesn't seem to do too well on first year intros. It takes them a couple years to find the issues.

I guess my point was if i got good incentives, (they gave me 11K on an 00 silverado others only offered 6), they MAY keep on however its no guarentee. Its a gamble BUT, theres nothing wrong with an 08 and your points about new gen intros and issues is well taken. Screw it...take the truck. Maybe in 2010 you can hork 1 and still get the incentives.

Exactly. Since I won't be as upside down I figure I can trade in 3-4 years and come out ok.

They are giving me 5K over book on my truck.

Sounds like you are happy with the deal they are giving you. If it is the truck you have been waiting for, go for it. The hemi is great as isthe '08 style. Post some pics when you do get it. Good luck. Red

Mine was too...but they adjusted the actual cab and not the bed on mine. The bed doesn't have much room to move and mine was waaay off.

I bought a new 08 QC Hemi Bighorn 2WD 3 weeks ago. I could not pass up the offer. Sticker was $34k and I got it for $22k brand new. Traded in my 06 Charger for it. I did notice that I have a gap on both sides of the hood though. It does not sit flush like the pics I see in peoples avatars. I will have to get that checked out by the dealership.

I love my 08 MC Hemi, stickered at almost 43K and i got it less than 30K. The kicker for me was the lifetime warranty, I also bought the additional FULL lifetime through Chrysler.... I heard the lifetime offer will be ending as well as some of the incentives.
