Default How do I adjust the door?

Yesterday I opened the door of my Ram to jump out. The wind caught it very hard and threw it open. Now I have a terrible wind noise when driving my truck from this door. When closed, the top of the door can be pushed closer to the truck, which would prevent the noise. I see on the forum that adjusting the door latch and/or striker can fix this. However, I don't see how either can be adjusted - they appear fixed in place. Am I missing anything?

Thank you,
Matt

Hmmm, I guess you could take some of the bolts out and throw some washers in there to shim it back... That's kind of a hack though

If it was my truck and the hinges were bent, I'd go to the auto recyclers and pick up a used hinge and replace the bent one.

I did manage to adjust the striker but I'm not sure if it made any difference. I guess I'll find out tomorrow.
The hinge does not look bent in the least, but if this persists, I will go get a used hinge and replace it. The pillar that these doors are attached to does not look very string, to say the least. If replacing the hinge doesn't work, I think the shim idea will work. Any other ideas out there?

the exact same thing happened to me...except it bent the top hinge and i took it to a body shop and they bent it back the best they could...it still doesn't shut right and when its windy out and im driving down the highway, the noise is terrible..so let me know if the new hinge works for you.
