Default Your thoughts please

Hi, my name is James and I’ve been a Dodge fan for years. I’ve driven an ’81 Ramcharger to an ’03 Dodge Neon. I recently had an accident with my Neon. I was hit from behind and forced into car at a traffic light. Correction, I was forced UNDER the rear of a car. My wife was in the car with me, and we both came out of it without a scratch, thank God. However, my Neon was totaled.

Here’s my problem. My wife wants to get another Neon, since we both loved that little car. Her reasons are based on fuel economy. I, however, am leaning toward a larger vehicle, such as an ’02 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab that I have found for sale. My concerns are for safety. It was pure luck that we survived the accident. Our vehicle was the only car totaled out of the five vehicles involved. I simply feel that we would be safer in a larger vehicle. I can’t see trying to save money while, potentially putting my family at risk.

I’d appreciate any thoughts on this. If I need to clarify anything, please ask.

Thanks,
James

well in any accident the bigger car will always be better off. Not only that but in a truck you can see the cars a head of the one in front of you. Your higher up so you can see aot more. Once and if you do get it and you get used to it, driving a car pnce in awhile just feels unsafe.

That's my feeling exactly. I feel more secure in a larger vehicle. Thanks for the reply!

****ty gas mileage beats being dead....**** when your dead you dont have to worry about anything. id rather worry about some cash than be in a box under ground. and besides....its a ram my friend. IMO you cant go wrong with that. and if you want some better gas mileage look into the 06+ because they have MDS. also look into some mods to gain some MPGs

You'll feel much safer in the truck. I have a mini cooper and my uncle said lets just put some handles on the sides and it'll double as your coffin.

if safety is your concern, definitely get a truck or an suv. you can also look into a durango since its a family car as well and it will have the added power too. if you feel safer in a bigger vehicle and worry about that stuff, go for the truck or suv. i too wouldnt mind paying gas to be safer. glad to hear youve gotten out without a scratch.

Get the truck, dang cars always crunch pretty easaley, mostley the japanese cars. Yeah my mom's friend had a 07 1500 QC Hemi and She flipped it like five or six times and the truck was totaled, but the interior of the cab was fine, she walked away with no injuries at all. I think she got the same thing in an 08 now. I think you won't have to worry about a crash If you have a truck/suv.
