Default 2002 1500 Leaking antifreeze

I have an 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad cab 2wd and I noticed a few spots in the garage of antifreeze. To me it looks that it is coming from the overflow vent, but not 100% sure. It is coming from up in the front. I filled the coolant up this morning so I know that it is leaking when you drive as well as it is sitting. Does anyone have anything on this?

I had the same thing happening on my 03 Hemi.
It was a pig to try and find where the leak was.[sm=confused06.gif]
My leak appeared to be from the front end as well.
In the end it turned out to be a tiny split on one of the plastic radiator headers.
With the pressure of a hot rad, it pushed coolant out.
Another tell tail was when the truck was hot, if you switched off and walked around the front, you could smell the hot coolant.
In the end I replaced the whole radiator and sorted itmy problem.
DO NOT try and put in any of those CRAPPY stop leak products.[sm=badidea.gif]
This will only block up you rad/t stat and pump etc. Don't use them, repiar the fault right in the first place.

Can you tell I didn't ?????? LOL[:@]

Anti-freeze tends to have a "seek" property about it in the fact that it finds all and any tiny leaks.
Hope this helps?
Al.

same thing here. turned out to be the same. there was so much pressure in the radiator that the plastic on the sides started to get pushed out and the metal that held it it was bending out. so they replaced those plastic pieces and fixed the metal prongs holding it there. all fixed now.

no prob, just bring it to a radiator shop. and if they tell you its that then go home, pull out your radiator and bring it to them to fix. it was like $80 for them to fix it....try this watch the seams of radiator where it meets the black plastic and have someone give it some gas so more flows through...that how i figured it was leaking from there.

Had it checked out by my local mechanic. He ran a pressure test on it yesterday with 17lbs on it for some time and it never leaked for him. Got it back last night and it was leaking on the garage floor again. What could this be? Could it be a cracked head or something? Help??????

I had this happen on my 02 also. It turned out that the clamps on the hoses where not set right. The clamp had like a hole on one side and a nipple on the other. So the nipple never was released from the hole and had caused all my fluid of leak out.
