stripped screws

Default stripped screws

i was taking off the black plastic piece on the front bumper to put on a brush guard and i ended up stripping all of the plastic screws that helt it on so now im wondering if anyone had ideas on how to get them out

first off you shouldnt have taken off the air dam. It directs air to your radiator. Why do you think Chrysler would have put it there. You could have easily cut into it. As for how to get the srcews out, just take a small drill bit and drill into them.

i was gunna take them off to mark where the mounts went in and hten cut it out becuase i didnt wanna cut with it on, so just drill it out, and then when i do that i guess just buy new ones

Yea, you can drill into them to get them out, or one of those bits to get out stripped screws, I'd just advise you to put the bit in a hand screwdriver, in a power tool I think you'd just make a bigger mess due to the fact that they are just plastic.

And be sure to just cut the slots in the dam and replace it, it IS a necessary piece for proper engine cooling...

do you have any thoughts on replacing them with metal screws so it will be easier to get them in and out?

l used small bolts and nuts to put brush guard back.

Your local NAPA store will have the screws in packs of five or ten. Take one with you, 'cause they don't know what fits what. Lowe's carries them too.
