Throttle Body Spacer
Ok, I amnot all that mechanically inclined, I am gettin ready to put a CAI on my truck and I was wondering if I would benefit from a throttle body spacer as well. What exactly is the purpose of it and how will it benefit me or not benefit me? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Throttle body spacers are for the most part a waste of money. All they do is make an annoying whistle. Save the 100.00$ and invest in a good set of spark plug wires instead! My Throttle body spacer makes about 100 hp more than stock right now
but it has a little help to go along with the TB spacer!

save the money instead and buy a new throttle body from www.thefastman.com as that will definetely add more hp.

The red you see behind the throttle body is the "SPACER"... As you can see, in order to create a "SPINNING" effect on the air flow it has to RESTRICT the air flow... this means the air actually loses momentum energy That is a restriction! ANYTHING that intentionally sticks into the air stream can potentially become more restrictive then helpful. This is the case with Throttle body spacers...
Dont get me going about the fuel being introduced at the end of each intake runner... effectively being completely unelected by the spinning air that these spacers are supposed to help ATOMIZE the air & fuel ... but the intake is DRY.... Nothing but air passes through the spacer... so what is it really doing? NOTHING... if your lucky, in our case it was hurting performance with a nice 4-5RWHP loss at the rear wheels.
If your looking to make more HP the last thing you want to do is RESTRICT Air flow.
