Well this morning i had the pleasure of walking out to my truck and discovering that some a-hole stole my tailgate. If you know of anyone selling a Dodge dark gray tailgate and does not own that truck let me know. I would like to meet them! I am getting to the point where i am becoming that old pissed off dude who is willing to take justice into my own hands rather then the courts slaping the criminal on the hand. Guess i will pay my deductable, get a new tailgate, and then pay higher premiums because i actually used my insurance properly! Glad i have a locking gas cap so no one takes 26 gallons of my 3.19 a gallon liquid gold!

 

To the low life a-hole who stole my tailgate..... insurance is paying for a new tailgate and i should have it back on my truck in two weeks with a few newgadgets attached.

i dont know these newer engines very well. what is the differance between a 3.9 v 6 and a 3.7 v 6 ?

 

there isn't a 3.9 v6

moe7404- well there is not a 3.9l V6 in the dodge line-up but the difference is 0.2l which is the volume of the cylinders.

RamItOne- yes the spare tire is still there. Going to get locking lug nuts for the tires, a regular lock for the spare, have a locking gas cap, and when they build my new tailgate i am going to have them install a lock on it as well.

perfectlytuned- That is one of the reasons i got the hell out of Cali. Do you know of a town near you called Placentia (not placenta... for those with sick minds). Grew up there before waking up one day and thinking that all of the traffic, smog, and $$$ that comes with living out in Cali was not worth it. I bet gas is above $4. does it get any better over in Irvine?

The 3.7 is a totally different beast from the 3.9; it and the 4.7 share similar design, like the 3.9 and the 5.2. Allpar.com will give you info on the engines until your eyes bleed. Jeeps also have a 3.8L V6 with pretty much the same performance of our 3.7's. They're pretty dated motors by today's standards of VVT and multiple intake/exhaust valves, but the 4.0L Pheonix should take care of that.

 

i feel your pain Petz two days after i boughtmy 05 hemi my wife called me when she was on her way to work and asked me what i did with my tailgate. it sucks *** really bad. i opted for the bully dog lock( 26.00 with shipping from ebay)on the 280.00 replacement i got from a salvage yard. now i just have a locking tonneau. i hate the feeling of being violatedwhen you just wake up.

 

ESP when you've got a bad hamhover and you don't know where you are.
2 days after I bought my truck I put on wheel locks, couldn't find em, napa, AZ, advanceauto none of em had 9/16"s had to go to the south side (ghetto) to find em.
