Alright so i got these 5% about 3 months ago.. couldnt get warranty cuz its illegal.. So anyways i hardlt have people in the back seat but noticed the other day when i lowered the back window i heard a crackling noise... Tints coming off from the bottom window... F*CK! Is there anyhting i can do to stick the tint on without hurting the wondow? Thanks guys since joining this forum ive learned a lot.

 

wow. that sucks. is it still sticky and able to stick back on or no? if not, i think youre **** outta luck my friend. so i guess go back and get it redone if its cheap. but you can do ANY tint on the back windows no matter what. it isnt illegal. only fronts are illegal. these guys raped you.

 

Sorry, but it has been 3 months the tint is done. It needs to be stripped and redone. I have never heard of not having warranty even if the tint peels- I would at least tell them the situation.

 

3 months is nothing for tints what do you mean? They should last WAYYY more than 3 months.. and i cant get warranty because they're illegal. 5% Can't i buy something to stick it back on the window? I gotta go back and tell them maybe they'll hook me up

 

I know its to last longer than 3 months, but since its peeled and its been 3 months that tint can't be restuck to the window, and besides im sure the tint has wrinkles now and that just screwed you- they won't come out.

 

i bought them 3 months ago and i dont think theyre wrinkeld yet.. its a little piece only... i hardly lower that window i just figured this out ast night.

 

It's for sure not normal as I have 5% over my rear and rear side windows although it has only been a month or so. I've had a lighter tint on my front on there for quite a few years and it's help up great. I'd still take it back and complain and if they won't do anything about it find a new shop that will give you a warranty. When I was calling around about gettin my fronts redone some told me if I went with a dark tint I wouldn't have a warranty or anything. Others told me they just were going to make me sign something saying they weren't responsible.

Plus 5% on the rear in most states is legal. It's usually just on the front that it's illegal on trucks, suv's, and vans. Atleast thats what the local tint shop told me. You can look it up and see. I'd verify it though first as I can't guarentee thats actually the law just what I was told.

Once it starts peeling I'm not sure there is much you can do. It would be best to strip it and retint it. Maybe you could put a little glue or something under there not exactly sure how that would work so do it at your own risk. I'd just have it redone by a shop that will give me a warranty if the original shop wont take care of you. Find a shop thats not so shady.

 

I have 5% tint on all my windows except for the front windshield and it came with lifetime warranty. The dealer even told me its illegal to have it on the front windows but I did it anyways. I have brought my truck in once already just about a month ago to get my front one redone as it was starting to peel in the corner. legal tint or not they should still warranty it, its there screw up, they probably didnt clean the window good enough.

 

Yup my 5% on my rear window was cut a little short in a spot I noticed after a few days and went back and had them redo it.

 

Warranty wasn't offered on my 5% either. You just pay em and they don't give you a receipt. I can't think of anything to help you out.
