Default something broke

Hi Im new here and something on my truck broke and i need help identifying the problem. I have a 2003 1500 4X4 and my problem is whenI drivedown the road it feals like somthing is binding up. Normaly it takes a few blocks of driving for it to start acting up but it gets bad realy fast. It sounds like a gear grinding when im under 10mph but if i get up to like 25mph it jerks like its catching a gear that dosnt wont to move. When this happends the shifter for 4wd shakes alot. I dont realy know how do discribe it any better but if needed i can try to record a clip of it acting up and post it.

I went to a shop and they told me to check the brakes but i thought I would ask here befor taking my tires off.

I still have my warranty so im not worried about cost to fix if its something big.

btw im not driving it like this its parked

have you tried engaging the 4wd and driving and then going back to 2wd.

check your differential. my pops' dump truck did the same. i know, its a dump truck, but still. its not much different other than being so big. if it is the diff, be careful that it didnt run out of fluid because if it did, youre fukced!! if it is broken, costs less to repair. but since you have warranty, you should be fine

best bet would be to take her in ASAP since she's still under warranty. How long have you had the truck for again?

i just read this. its your differential dude. ill bet you it is that over anything. either its broken or its burnt. luckily youve got warranty. first, we had a broken diff, costed us (again for a dump truck) $1300. then 3 months later (last month) it burnt out because it didnt have any diff fluid and it cost us $1800 since it melted the steel inside and needed to get fixed up with more parts this time. dont drive it to the dealer. go in a different car, and tell them they need to tow it since it cant be driven and youre under warranty. dont drive it!!!!!! youre risking your life.

Isuspected it was the diff after reading about the clip problem with the LSD. I just wanted to be sure it wasnt the brakes befor going to a shop. I personaly never herd of any car having a problems like this and it being the brakes.

thanks for the very fast replies guys

I hope you got the rear and front diff oil's changed out and serviced every 15000 miles???
That's what the maintenance book say's they need to be done at.
If you haven't, or did it yourself and not kept the receipts, you may not get the warranty work done?
Hope that's not the case?
Al.
