ok,new to the forum. been a browser for a while just never posted. needing a little more hp for my 02 1500 5.9 gas.

i have the hypertech max energy installed,k&n airfilter system installed. just got new 8.5 msd wires.(not installed yet)

which plugs do you guys recommend? are the denso iridium plugs ok?

what other upgrades would you guys recommend for more hp needed?

i am new to this kind of stuff and any info that you could help me with would be apprecieated?

needing more hp. tired of my buddy braging about his 5.4 f150. even though his truck does run good, i am not telling him that.

champion coppers, look under your hood it'll give you the part number. Why are you wanting more hp, does your mpg just not suck enough? LOL.
Ever think about stroking it?

 

yeh mpg not so good. but thats ok.

not really wanting to go internal with mods. looking for bolt on power or something to replace something that is stock.

i was getting about 10 mpg until i installed the hypertech and it went up to about 13.5.

quick and easy get rid of your clutch fan and go with an e fan.

 

The tuner and K&N are a good start, but I don't see where you[ve done an exhaust. That would be the first thing to do, without question.
Then you could look into other mods that would increase HP & MPG's at the same time such as an e-fan & headers.

 

champion coppers, huh. i figuired that some of the more expensive plugs would do a better job.

i new i would need to do the exhaust but i was just trying to hold off. i like the truck on the quiet side. i didnt want everyone to be able to hear it a mile away. but if i want more power i am going to have to do it. any ideas on which muffler and pipe size i should use?

i read where getting rid of my factory 20" wheels would help alot too. they are very heavy wheels.

you can get long tube headers and a higher flowing exhaust that isnt extremely noisy...

 

yep in dodges case the coppers are the best..

as far as long tube headers does ohio have emission laws and testing?

 

get some zex an tell your friend try to keep up

 

Go with exhaust and then change out your gears.
