Default Seat belt chime

Hello from Ohio, new here to the forum. Is there a wire to cut or something to eliminate the chime from the seat belt reminder. Does the sound come through the speakers or is there a seperate box under the dash? Thanks!!

The Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) can be enabled
or disabled by your authorized dealer or by
following these steps:
NOTE: The following steps must occur within the first
60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the ON
or START position. DaimlerChrysler does not recommend
deactivating the Enhanced Warning System
(BeltAlert).
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and
buckle the driver’s seat belt.
2. Start the engine and wait for the Seat Belt Warning
Light to turn off.
3. Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle
and then re-buckle the driver’s seat belt at least three
times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt
buckled.
4. Turn off the engine. A single chime will sound to
signify that you have successfully completed the programming.
The Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) can be reactivated
by repeating this procedure.
NOTE: Although the EnhancedWarning System (BeltAlert)
has been deactivated, the Seat Belt Warning Light
will continue to illuminate while the driver’s seat belt
remains unbuckled.

Nice! Thanks for the info, sometimes I just don't immediately buckle mine, I usually get going down the road before I do and I hate that chime. Does it say how to reactivate it (bought truck used, don't have a manual, been meaning to buy one)?

I downloaded the manual for my 2008 off the Dodge website. I think you can do the same for earlier years. I have the paper one, but I like having both.

Yeah, I just did the same thing. 456 pages! I'm considering going to campus and using their computer lab to print it out, I wonder how bad that would **** somebody off! lol
