Default Auburn owners... fluid question

I just got an Auburn LSD from a supplier on ebay for $347. Its the only one i saw that fit 84+ 9.25's. I got the right one right?

Anyway, i know im not supposed to use synthetic in it. The box says it contains the friction additive. Which fluid and type would be best for performance and fuel mileage?

Thanks

Auburn is VERY adamant about not using a synthetic, however, I know a few people who do with no problems. One guy put in Royal Purple and the bottle said it has the modifier in it, but he chirpped around turns once in a while so he added a half bottle and it shut right up...
I have Lucas in mine but am due for a change as soon as I get home from my "unexpected vacation". I'm seriously thinking of using a synthetic...

Ok well im Not going to use a synthetic because i want this thing to be worry free. After i have it installed i want to forget its even in there. Since i only drive 5k miles a year i figure i shouldnt have to touch it for 5years.

So what weight is recommended and what dino oil would you guys recommend?
Thanks

Kendall 80w 90 with Ford Motorcraft friction modifier is what I run. AnyQUALITY name brandnon syntheticgear oil will workfine. I have approx12,000 miles on mine andstill running with no issues.
