Default Update on E-bay Cheap intake kit.

OK, so I have ran a couple of tanks of gas through with the new intake kit from E-bay. ( Seller was ChromeIntakes.com ) My check engine light kept coming on, and at a certan range of throttle position, it makes this really HIGH PITCHED squeal! ( Just so happens, that it is when you drive between 52 - 63 or so mph !!!! ) SO,,,, nedless to say, I removed it and put the stock air filter box back on. FYI, the fuel milage went from 18.5 avg to 17 mpg avg. And I could tell that it has a LITTLE more power and better throttle responce. But at $3.56 / gal gas, plus a check engine light that stays on, I removed it. I think in the case of the 3.7L Ram's, the best thing someone can do is get the jeep liberty intake elbow and a K&N filter. I believe that is about as good as it is going to get on these trucks without some form of forced induction. And after returning my engine bay back to stock, no more check engine light. And looks like this tank is going to be right at 19.5 mpg. (Had a lot of highway driving this time around) Oh well.

I bought what they called a stage 3 intake from them so the filter sits behind the fog light and have never had any problems with it the only bad thingis the vacume hose is to long so it kinked. so if you cut it so there is just enough room for it it works fine.

i had same problem with a "kinking" hose. see blue hose below.

anyways, went to autozone, and bought some thick-walled vacuum hose with approximately same inner diameter, and replaced the stupid blue one they gave me. don't have a pic those. but looks the same as the one above, except the blue hose is now black, and is heavy duty enough to actually "turn" instead of "kink".

as for your check engine light problem, maybe it was because your car wasn't used to the new air temp sensor readings? it's weird though how it only came on at certain rpms/speeds. anyways, when i changed plugs, i had a light come on (cause...maybe it detected timing was off, but actually it was just newer/better plugs). anyways, disconnected negetive terminal on battery for few minutes, then reconnected, and have no light since.
