Default Why is ATF+4 So hard to find??

I'm in Denver, CO and I've checked 2 walmarts, 2 NAPA's and 2 Checker AutoParts and NONE of them have any ATF+4????[:@]

I still need to check AutoZone and a couple others but damn man, WTF????

I might end up going to the dealer and paying too much now.....[:@]

That is weird -- Wally World here usuallyhas Mopar and another national brand, as well as their house brand. Advance Auto Parts is where I got my Valvoline.

It's frustrating cause it's been that way for a few years I think. The last time I went looking for it I had a hell of a time finding then too.

Walmart did have the mopar filters and a few other things but no ATF+4... grrrr.

Talk to them about getting it, since it's now made by pretty much every oil maker.
You'd probably have better luck at NAPA, because my experiance with AutoZone is that their a bunch of idiots. At AutoZone, I bought out their stock of Valvoline ATF+4, and needed a few more quarts (WalMart was sold out, and we know about the chances of getting someone who knows anything at WalMart) and the idiot at the counter asked "Do you want us to order some more." I should have said, "Well, when you run out of an item in a store, isn't it standard practice to order more of it?"

I only run Mopar ATF+4 and have been getting mine at Wal-Mart. I bought out our stock at our Wal-Mart when I had my tranny put in so I went to another Wal-Mart when I was visiting family and got more there.

The dealer has it but it's like $11 a quart. Wal-Mart was $4.26 I think for the Mopar brand as I just bought some 2 days ago. I'd keep checking Wal-Marts. When in Advance Auto the other day I noticed they had Mopar oil filters. Can they get Mopar stuff now? Maybe they can get it for you? I still say I'd stick with the Mopar brand though.

there's nothing special with mopar atf4 valvo makes a better one anyways. Just order it online, its not like you have to replace of often where you really need a local supplier.
