Is it bad to keep weight in the bed for a long period?
I moved and my town has a free dump day. But with my hectic work scedual I had to load it in the truck early today. Is it bad for the rear end to have weight in it until sat morning. I have a box spring, matress, 6 dressar drawers, heavy wooden table, 2 chairs and nightstand lol...I know this sounds newbish but the backs like sitting lower now will that wear down my height?
RE: Is it bad to keep weight in the bed for a long period?
A lot of weight shouldn't hurt the truck sitting still. If you drive it overloaded you could have problems. I hope you only have a short distance to go. Just drive careful.

I saw one guy on I20 towing a 35' bumper trailer with a 1500 that was so heavy that his rear tires were literally up in the wheel well. If he didn't break a spring I would be surprised.
...but I'm sure he wasn't going very far with it...

The load you describe probably doesn't weigh more than 500-600 lbs. I used to carry that much every day for work. Just remember it won't stop quite so quickly, and make sure the tires are at proper pressure.

but they usually have an add a leaf or air bag or better yet a 3/4 ton
So true, look at all the telco, cable, electrical trucks with hydralic buckets on them. Always 3/4 or more often, 1 ton trucks, and they don't have issues with all that weight. If you are within the recommended limits of your particular truck, a full load won't hurt anything even if it's in there for 7 years. Course dampers, shocks, bushings, etc will wear out more often.
My brother-in-law has a slide in camper on one of his many fords, it's in 365 days a year, usually parked. It's been on there for probably 3-4 years and I can't see any difference from his other similar trucks.
