Default lifters clicking

I just bought a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 magnumwith a 4.7.. when truck sits all day or night, when I crank it , you can hear the lifters for about 60 seconds, then you don't hear them no more, till you let it sat for a good while and go to crank it again, does anybody else have this problems.. thanks

My old 4.7 did the same thing. I adjusted them and it helped a little, but I guess they're just inherantly loud on start-up.

Hydraulic lifters, need time to build up some oil pressure and take up the valve lash after sitting for many hours.
Its normal.
If they don't quieten down after running for a while, is the problem.

i got that too, its just normal. Sometimes it just means the oil is getting ready to be changed.
