Anybody ever tried tinting...
I had my front windows tinted and had them also do the visor...it cost me $60 for everything. $25 for each front window and only $10 for the visor. I HIGHLY recomend the visor as it helps a lot with the sun in the morning or afternoon drives.
btw I think you can go pretty dark but there is a limit on how low it can be...something like 6 inches from the top of the window but I'm sure that varies by state.

The plus side of having it done is most places will make sure it is legal for the state it is done in. I know the last time I had a vehicle tinted they put their shop name on a tiny sticker in the corner to certify it as legal.

Yes. It’s called a uni-brow or a visor is what I’ve seen people call it. I had it done on a car we've had before and they are great! It seems easy to do, just have to find some tint long enough, let us know how it goes...I want to do it to my ram once I get a new windshield, the crack is getting big and I know of a place that will wave my deductable :-).

mmstar, I think insurance will only cover it if you have full coverage. If you just have liability, they won't. Besides, windshields are pretty cheap. I can get a new one ranging from 150-200 around here, which isn't too shabby. And I have a sticker on my door saying my tint is all legal (35 front, 5% rear). I think doing the unibrow yourself is dumb considering it's so cheap to have it done professionally for about 15-20 bucks. You'd probably spend that much in materials alone to get it done.
