I have pretty much decided on a flowmaster for my Ram, just need some opinions. I called three different shops around here and was told that the 50 HD was mainly for hemi's that I should get the 40 series. Another shop said that the 50 series would be good for me. I have a 4.7 and my sound is pretty loud already. I just need some input about who has the 50 series with a 4.7 do you like the sound? Who has a 40 series with a 4.7 do you like the sound? I know this has been asked many times on here but just need some reassurance before I spend 350.00 bucks.
Thanks for thehelp.

i got a single 40 series installed on my 4.7 it is the single in dual out. had it dumped just off the muffler. sounds great, sets off the neigbor's car alarm every morning at 7 when i leave! it is loud, nice tone. no performance increases, at least any noticeable. i only paid 195 including tax. unless you're getting true duals with chrome tips you are paying way too much.

We have had the 40 series on since we bought our truck in 04, the hubs changed it out today for the 50 series.....he hates it LOL, I love it. It isn't nearly as loud as the 40's, as a matter of fact it almost sounds quiet(relatively speaking). Living in Germany the 40 series was a bit overbearing and the neighbors were not impressed. We will probably get something louder when we move back to the states.

I have the 50HD, but ona Hemi. Bought it because the website said at the time it was specifically made for the Hemi. With CAI it sounded really nice. Not too loud at idle & normal driving, just deep & throaty, but when you get on it, it's loud. The addition of LT Headers really enhanced the sound, not really louder, but definately deeper.
The 44 is fairly new and a good compromise between the 50 & 40. Due to negative press on how poorly their chambered designs flow, it has a re-designed flow pathwhich is supposed to outflow all their previous chambered models. You may want to check into that one. I know a couple of guys with it, one with a 4.7 and he is very impressed with it...

i have the 40 series on a 4.7 pretty loud i like it. its loud to a lot of people i just wish it was louder. i was thinking about a single chamber 10 series though. but i plan on getting rid of the cats pretty soon, hopefully that will help with loudness and a little deeper. but never the less it sound really good. mines only a single in and single out which i was also thinking about changing it to a single in dual out. wouldnt cost me anything because i work at a auto parts store and we have the flowmaster 40 series SI/DO
what are you paying $350 for? just the muffler or what? if its just the muffler your crazy!
