2004 4.7 Bad mileage and engine dies

This is new to me. My fuel dropped down to about 7.5mpg from 11-13. Now when I fill the tank full if I pull to a stop sign it will die a few times for the first 10 miles or so. Any ideas what the heck is going on. Took it to the shop and they found nothing.
