I went with the 3" body lift and I don't see any problems with it.. Cutting the fan shroud is no big deal, I was really concerned about that part too at first but once I started it ended up being easy. I used a small hand saw (like for cutting sheetrock but with a hacksaw type blade) and it worked fine. Don't know why some say stay away from body lifts though.
