Default lifting your truck

ok this is going to be a stupid question... but i want to lift my truck a bit, is there a difference between a body lift and a lift kit? because a lift kit includes a whole new suspension, but the body lift is just lifting the body and not doing anything to the suspension right? i know its a stupid question.

a body lift is a lift kit too...just a different type. A suspension lift kit lifts a truck using suspension components and a body lift lifts a truck using spacers between the body and the frame.

well...with my body lift and level kit and 36's......measuring from the bottom of the middle of the fender to the ground is 46 1/2" and 47" in the rear, I sit about 1/2" taller than most 6" suspension lifts.........

I believe the only choice for the 3rd gen Ram's in a body lift is 3". The better kit's come with bumper relocation brackets, so you'd not have a problem there.

3" kit from performance accessories comes with the brackets to move your front and rear bumpers up and I don't think you can go over a 35" tire with out problems. Not sure if 17" rims makes a difference in that statement though.
