where do i hook up a trailer brake controller on my 2006 dodge ram 2500 4x4 cummins. is there a harness that i need to tie into or do i have to run new wires all the way back.

 

If you have the round 7-way connector on the rear bumper, then your truck is pre-wired. if you do not have the connector on the back of the truck, you have to run wires all the way from front to rear. If you need the wiring kit, it is only about $80.00 from a dealer.....I have done this many times and it is not hard....

 

hey i bought the truck used and there was a plug under the dash all the way to the left side under the steering wheel it had a connector plugged into it and the wires were capped off it had four wires on it is that the plug it is blue. has a white w/red wire a light blue wire a light blue with white wire and a green wire coming out of it. and i do have the plug in the bumper
