The Detroits run about $125 higher. The Auburn is supposedly a little better on pavement, not chattering around turns as much, etc. The Detroit has no clutches to wear out over time and they both lock up the rear quite well.

I was thinkin' Richmond 4.56 gears and an Auburn l/s. What's the price difference on the Tru Trac? I'm about $1000 short, anyway...but hey that's what credit cards are for, right?

They are both fantastic products, so much better than the stock LSD. I hear about the clutch pack type wearing over time, but I had an Auburn in my '98 almost from day one (like my '04 4x4, the '98 came with an open diff. At 69k when I traded it, the Auburn still performed as good as day one, so I don't know how long it takes to wear one out.
I've heard from a couple of guys who have the TruTrac and say it clunks a little bit on sharp turns on pavement(which doesn't really hurt anything, maybe wears the rear tires a little faster) and you never hear that about the Aurburn. The Auburn has a reputation of being a little more streetable and a little better at the track, where the TruTrac has the rep of being a little better off-road LSD.
Since I have always had a daily driver, I kinda wanted to try the TruTrac this time, but I'm in NO WAY displeased with the performance of the Auburn unit...
I don't go off the pavement, but I'd want the better product for my $$$. You said you have an Auburn, but should of waited for the Detroit. Is the only reason, that the Detroit has no clutches to wear? You don't drive OB, do ya? Regardless, if it's better than I need to re-evaluate.

3" body, front leveling kit and a 3" add-a-leaf in the rear! But if I were to do it again I would have forked out the extra for a suspension lift so I Could get a couple extra inches then what I have. I had some rubbin issues but I just took care of them with an angle grinder and a cutting wheel!

I had to cut a little off the plastic on the front bumper and take a little off the fender on the rear of the front tire! (on the 2-3" piece of the fender between the bottom of the door and the tire!) I won't be back to my house until tomorrow, but I will send you a picture when I get home tomorrow evening!

that'd be great man, thanks.
