oil change added mpgs
You changed your oil today and are already claiming MPG gains? That's kind of a small sampling of a tank. Especially if you're using the overhead lie-o-meter and not using the pen and paper method after refilling.
ive found my overhead display to be pretty accurate, but for this....a 4mpg gain seems to good to be true/hard to believe. therfore id hand calculate that one.
on the otherhand, i switched to royal purple from conventional and noticed about a 1-2 mpg gain....but 4...what the hell

yeah its 98% bull****, i run amsoil in everything, and i get 13.5 in my 06 qcsb 4x4.
the only way you get that kind of increase is if you dumped the fat chick you were boning...
plus you need to go through about 3 tanks before you have anything that remotely resembles a valid sampling...

I think that when you changed your oil to the mobil 1 (I use it too) you WANTED to see some improvement for all the money that you spent.
so you saw one. same thing as the guy who chages to a K&N and then says that "you would not believe the improvement"
just my 2 cents.

I hate to say this.. but 4mpg improvement over an oil change is unheard of. Like it was brought up above, what was your mileage before and what is it now? I can tell you that even runing a high flow exhaust, a massive CAI and a programer wont get that improvement on our trucks.
If you really had such a dramatic improvement in your MPG, then you may want to check something else in your truck as there is was something wrong before. I am not trying to bust your bubble, but you are talking 30% improvement in MPG.
some questions for you.
1. What engine size are you running
2. What type of truck are you running
3.When was the last time you changed your oil
4. Did you take a heavy load of your truck after the the Oil change
Again.. not meaning to burst your bubble.. just sharing that your gains are just hard to phantom.

So you're telling us you drained the two remaining quarts of sludge from the factory that hadn't been changed in 75,000 miles, refilled it with 6 quarts of Mobil1, and now the engine can finally run again?
You may think I'm kidding, but I got a job as parts manager at a truck parts place, and found out the leased parts truck still had the factory oil in it, and it had 35,000 miles on it! And we sold oil and filters! And we had an untouched book full of free oil change coupons in my new desk for that truck! And they wondered why it had overheating problems! I'm amazed it still ran.
