Default Trade in Value

What happened to the trade invalue of rams. I went to 2carplacestoday and got offered $9000 and $8500. My truck is a 2003 quad cab 4x4 hemi slt with 93,000 miles. Italso has rhino liner and mickey thompson classic II and nitto terra grapplers. Kelly Blue Book is about $11,000. They said nobody uses KBB anymore. What do yall think a fair trade in amount would be for this truck? Thanks.

I think you should realize you're pretty damn lucky to get that much. Take the offer asap.

Gas prices took a big toll, and the economey. Glad our cars are all paid off and don't have any reason to get rid of them now.

Up here in MI, I have heard some dealers have so many Rams, and sent them to auction, that they won't even take one on trade.

It's sad that it's getting to THAT point where you are trying to trade it in, anyway. Hopefully, you're just upgrading to a new one? Contemplate getting a bicycle and keeping the truck in the garage for a while. (see STAY AWAY FROM DRIVE THRU'S) j/k Mr. Chandler. My advice is do what you gotta do. You can sit on it for a while and hope a better offer comes along. But if you need to dump and run, listen to RamItOne.

By the time I get ready for a new DD I will be selling the Hemi Ram private. The trade in will not be enough to save me decent money on taxes, so it will make more sense to sell it out right.

Ram trade in is not all gas prices. The HIGH incentives and HIGH dealer rebates (totaling 10+K on a new truck) kills resale. When the 09s hit the lots if they are able to sell high volume without big incentives it should actually help us.

I just saw on the news that a lot of dealers are refusing full size SUV's and trucks as trade ins due to the gas prices here in the Bay Area. They are raising prices on Prius and such. By the way, I pay $3.95 for mid-grade here in San Jose. Seems that people are panicking about the gas. I'll never get one of those butt ugly Prius, you see so many of them here. I didn't by my rig for it's mileage anyway. Just my 2 cents.

Ditto that. It's nice not having car payments. Luckily, both commutes are short and we car pool whenever possible. That makes our combined commute only twenty-six miles a day. It may come down to about eighteen! Our insurance costs aren't bad, either. Mid-grade is around $3.58 at Costco.
