body lift
Somebody else is gonna have to chime in on that one. But the last time I did my own body lift was in '98 and it took me and a buddy about a nine hour day and me alone about three hours the next to get everything perfect. It was only the second time I'd ever done one though and we took many breaks (auto parts store to get odds & ends, food & beer runs, etc.). I understand a place that does this kind of thing on a regular basis and has a lift instead of jack stands, should be able to pop it off in about five or six hours.
You should probably find a place near you that does it and have them quote you, so you'll have all your ducks in a row before ordering your kit.
In the meantime, maybe someone on here who has paid to have a body lift done recently will chime in...

another question too...im pretty new with this lift stuff so what would be better to get? a body lift or a suspension lift and are there any long term effects...like will parts need to be replaced after a long period of time or after i raise it will i be set for the truck's lifetime?
I bought my 3in body lift from www.truckcustomizers.com for $305.00 It is a performance accessories kit. Paid $700 for the install. I have no complaints with it, its the best mod I've done.

go to ebay and buy the torsion bar lift with rear blocks. $175 I bought this lift for my 02 4x4 took me about 4 hours to install, had to replace the shocks $165 but I am running 35" tires fixin to put 37" on with no scrub and love it. Cheap simple and no having to replace the radiator hoses or cut the fan shroud or any of that bulls***

Hey go easy on the guy. If everyone just searched for the topics they needed there would be no reason to have a forum, it would just be a library. I can't even begin to count how many new threads I have seen you open up about the same topic: problems with your leveling kit, size of tires to get, and brand of tires, etc. If you don't want to answer the persons question, just go to the next thread. Now, IMO I would go with a suspension kit. they do cost more money, butyou could spendclose to $1000 on a body lift and I know a suspension lift is not that much more money. They are easier to put on and I think they look better. You won't have to worry about you nerf bars and bumpers being lower that the body of the truck with a suspension lift. Also, if you just wanted the truck to be higher in the front, you could go with a leveling kit, very cheap, and easy to install, will run you -$100.
