lol youll get better... on a full tree my best advice is dont react to the green, doesnt matter how fast you may react to seeing green, it wont beat you reacting to the 3rd yellow and knowing when greens gonna light up. and hey most places will have a prize for the best reaction time or for hitting .500. sure you may see some red lights while yer gettin the hang of it.
if yer gonna do 1/8th mile maybe being in the tow/haul mode would help, itll hurt your top end but will certainly help your 0-30... but def do not try that in the 1/4 mile..
im just glad the people that said keep your fuel low, no spare, etc etc didnt bring up deep staging, yeah those 2 inches are gonna sep you and the other guy

Wow, apparently my mods do add up to noticable improvement. Mine did 15.92 @ 86 and weighed right at 6000 lbs.
I've never seen runs from a bone stock truck that was nearly identical to mine so now I've got something to compare it to.

I am sure with practice, and getting mroe comfortable with the track and my truck, I will get better times...Plus when I do upgrade, I will have something to compare it too as well...Our track is a 1/4 mile track, but it gives us our 1/8 times on our slip...
You know, a person/s give some advise and the thing is, it's easy to do so a newbie would take you up on it as it's not like changing a cam or headers etc,it would cost NOTHING to do the stuff, such as remove seats and spare and keep fuel low etc and we still get disparaging remarks????[sm=WTFsgign.gif]
If someone did mention deep staging, which they didn't, isn't is nice to give some free info to a newbie who might never have even come across or dreamed about that concept??? Isn't that what this sites about?
A lot of people just plow on in there with smart comments, forgetting that they may have years of experience of this stuff and the newbie,...............well.............. they are new.
Isn't that what this and other forums alike, are all about?
Giving free information and experience to help people and these ideas were given free, they workand the mods cost nothing?
How good is that?
Anyhow, those 2 inches that seperate you from another guy....................isn't a win ..............
A WIN ???[sm=thanx.gif]I'd take it!
I'm outta here!

I deep staged my truck everytime...Can't really remove the back seat as my kids sit back there and the one is only 10 months so he needs his car seat...
Is it better to deep stage or not? I know when the hubby took it down the track he deep staged it and loaded it...and he got the best time with my truck...Then again, he has been drag racing his diesel truck for the last 6 years...He was trying to build boost and almost broke loose at the lights...His bad...teehee
I thank everyone for the advice you are all giving me...I am going to try different things for different runs...It is just a matter of learning and getting the hang of it...Too bad none of you live here and could actually come down the track with me for a ride along to see what I may be doing wrong...
It is all about learning...And until I learn the track and my truck, it is going to be hard...
Right now our track is still pretty cold, so no one is really getting the best times anyway...Within a few weeks it should be a lot better (fingers crossed), as well, I should get a lot better...
