use protection, and be gentle your first time out
nothing worse than just sitting there and spinning your tires
Also, reset your pcm RIGHT NOW and go drive the hell outta the truck. It will need soem time to re learn your new driving habit (pedal to floor) so don't do it just before the run.
from one of AIRRAM's posts:
Here is a copy of the PCM reset instructions I include with each POWER WIRE. After you have done this you can begin to clear your computers memory. This is also a good idea to do on each oil change. This gives the computer a clean slate which to learn from. You may even feel a performance gain just by resetting the computer alone.
1) With the key out of the ignition
2) Disconnect the Negative battery Cable.
3) Put the key in the ignition and turn it as if you where trying to the START it.
4) Release the key and leave it in the “ON†position and let it sit for 10- 15 min
5) Remove key from the ignition.
6) Re-attach the negative battery cable.
7) DO NOT TOUCH THE THROTTLE when starting the truck for the first TWO times!!!
8) Start truck and let idle till it reaches operating temperature.
9) Turn truck off for 5-10 seconds.
10) RE-START the truck but DO NOT TOUCH THE THROTTLE!
11) Let the truck return to normal idle (500-600 RPM’s)
12) Turn truck off, and then start her up and take her for a LIGHT test drive… NO WOT testing yet.
13) After driving around the block letting your computer LEARN the new air flow turn her off one last time…
14) Fire her up and drive her the way you want.
I have found this trick to remove and get rid of small gremlins of the unknown. If you have ANY questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.

I didn't read the other posts but here are a few tips.....
1. Avoid the water box unless you are running drag slicks, it will just hurt your traction by getting water in the treads of your tires.
2. When you stage, do not hard stage until the other person has atleast staged into the first lights, just a nice thing that drag racers are supposed to do that alot of amatuers forget about.
3. LEAVE ON IDLE. Do NOT stall the motor up on your hemi. Torque management will kick in and choke out your power. So when the last light turns yellow just let off the brake and stab the gas. If you have a limited slip you shouldn't spin with the power of the hemi on a groomed track, but if you are opn in the rear, ease into the gas or you will throw rubber all over the side of your truck.
4. Stay in the groove, you will get the best traction there.
5.Shut your motor off between passes to eliminate hot lapping.
6. Have fun

I plan on having lots of fun...I just cleaned everything out of my truck. My friend is the pit boss so he is going to take me for a ride along at first. I am the only one out of everyone we know with a hemi, everyone else runs diesel...[&:]I will let you all know how I did my first time out...Took my truck to the shop as the engine light came on...the boys at NADP checked it and cleared it for me...Guess no more Shell gas for my girl as it is making her slugish...
Fingers crossed she stays running good for tonight....Thank you again
