I want to put a "do it yourself" cat back system on my truck ('02 quad cab with 5.9L gas V-8) and I am considering buying a kit from Mac Auto Parts on eBay. They give you the muffler brand of your choice and they supply the pipes. Has anyone bought from them before and if so how well did the system fit and how difficult was installation?

 

i put on a similar system from madhatter (on ebay) on my 04 hemi just a couple days ago with magnaflow muffler and tips. The hardest part is removign the old system since everything will be rusted. Plan on being on your back for a while. It took 3 hours (2 to remove the old system). Probably take another hour or two to get everything perfectly aligned. Have to cut the tail pipes cuz they're too long, but that doesn't affect functionality.

Plan on having a lot of patience, cussing, hammering, kicking, and beer, and you'll be fine.
